Chiropractic care isn't about doing the same thing to every person who walks through the door. We believe your care should be guided by you, your body, your presentation, your comfort, your goals and your lifestyle
For some people, chiropractic care may involve a gentle adjustment. For others, it may involve mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, dry needling, rehabilitation or a combination of approaches. Our focus is on finding an approach that your body can comfortably respond to, rather than forcing a particular technique or treatment style.
There is no one-size-fits-all schedule for chiropractic care. We don't have lock-in payment plans or a requirement for large numbers of appointments. We believe the
frequency and duration of care should be considered around your individual circumstances and clinical needs. Intimately, our aim is to develop an achievable approach that you can realistically maintain, while achieving results. Because when care fits into your life, it becomes achievable.
We work with people experiencing a range of musculoskeletal concerns and movement-related presentations. Including;

What sets us out from the rest?
Time to listen, understand and work with you.
We don't believe good healthcare should feel rushed. Rather than a quick in-and-out appointment, we want you to feel that you've had the time to explain what is happening, ask questions and understand the approach being recommended.
Taking the time to listen and understand the bigger picture helps us work with you rather than simply treating a body part. We also recognise that care needs to fit into real life. Work, family, exercise, sport and everything else that fills your week all matter. We don't believe that a good care plan should make you feel like your life has to revolve around appointments.
Whether you're seeking care for a current concern, looking to improve your movement and function, or wanting guidance around rehabilitation and physical activity, David start by understanding where you're at. From there, he will discuss the options that may be appropriate for you and develop an approach that takes your needs, preferences and lifestyle into account.
Chiropractic doesn't always mean manual adjustments - also known as "cracking".
Chiropractic is often associated with the sound of a joint being adjusted, but that is only one part of what chiropractic care can involve. We use a range of techniques and strategies depending on what is appropriate for the individual. This may include:
The aim is not to use a particular technique simply because it is traditionally associated with chiropractic. It is about considering what is appropriate for you and working within your comfort and tolerance
The person comes first. The technique comes second.
Experience matters, but so does an individual approach
Our chiropractor, Dr. David Lourey brings 29 years of clinical experience, supported by university qualifications and extensive ongoing professional development. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy major) from the University of NSW and a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University, along with more than 500 hours of continuing professional development. Professional development has included advanced neuroscience, rehabilitation and pain management, low-force chiropractic techniques and GLA Back clinical training through Macquarie University.
Dr. David has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor at the Macquarie University Chiropractic Outpatients Clinic, worked with the University of NSW School of Community Medicine, collaborated with osteopaths in multidisciplinary practices, and provided chiropractic care to Olympic athletes and professional sportspeople. This breadth of experience means there is a wide range of clinical strategies to draw upon but experience doesn't mean assuming that one approach will suit everyone.
Chronic Pain & Chiropractic care - Dr David is passionate about the management of chronic pain. Chronic pain can involve complex interactions between the body and central nervous system, with proprioceptive input contributing to how the brain perceives movement, position and physical load. Our approach considers these factors alongside musculoskeletal function, movement and each individual's presentation when assessing and managing pain
Unsure if chiropractic care is right for you? We offer a Complimentary Chiropractic Discovery Appointment
For people who would like to take the first step without feeling pressured to commit to ongoing care. We know that discomfort, recurring pain, persistent injuries, headaches or changes in movement can affect everyday life, and it can be difficult to know where to start. This appointment gives you the opportunity to talk through what you're experiencing, ask questions and learn more about whether chiropractic care may be appropriate for you.
We take the time to listen and look at the bigger picture rather than assuming that one approach will suit everyone. If chiropractic care appears appropriate, we'll explain the options available to you. If we feel another health professional or approach may be more suitable, we'll let you know.
There is no obligation to continue with care. Our goal is simply to help you make a more informed decision about your next step.
Our Complimentary Spinal Assessment (CSA) helps to identify if Chiropractic care will provide you with any benefit. This is available to adults, children and babies.
